A lot depends on how you use your computer, what web sites you visit and your surfing habits. Locking down your computer with a firewall is not going to prevent identity theft when you are on line. Neither is anti virus or spy blockers alone. Web sites invade your privacy and try to get information all the time. Privacy and preventing identity theft is a multi-faceted thing and the more you do on line the more you need to do to protect yourself. Read the articles below for more information.

Just have a good anti virus, firewall ands anti spyware on your computer. No need to get software to prefend identity theft.
