How do I get my free annual credit report from the Trans Union web site?

When I am transferred to the Trans Union web site from annualcredit report.com, all I can see are offers for credit reporting products and the option to order them. There are no pointers to the free yearly credit report. How do I get the free report from this web site?

Transunion, Equifax, and Experian all legally have to provide you with a credit report (3 in all) every 12 months due to a law passed in congress about 2 years ago( called the FACT ACT).This report will not show your score, but it should show all else that you would normally see. I copied the information from thier website below:

Under the FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you are entitled to one free Personal Credit Report in a 12 month period. To request this free annual report online, by phone, or mail, visit http://www.annualcreditreport.com.

Just be careful. You shouldn’t have to pay for ANYTHING!

if i were them i wouldn’t point you to a product that is a complete money loser for them…there are other ways, just not thru their website

Went through the same nonsense, and used the telephone..No problem at all. Very quick and easy, and you will get a letter in the mail in a few days. Don’t have the number handy but there are three reporting companies. Too much info is worse than none at all. Best wishes

I assume you entered all your information on the annual credit report site and then clicked next, picked transunion and the clicked next and it transferred you to the site. If so, then you should have a screen with offers for you to check on and an accept button on the bottom. Don’t check anything off and click on accept. I don’t remember, but it may then ask if you want to add a credit score for a fee, yes or no, click no. Then you should have a screen with a tab that says credit report. Click the tab and view your report.
    Hope that helps
