is the national credit report a scam?
I have purchased a service from the nationalcreditreport.com and I pay for getting updates and notifications, for over a year many things have change, however no updates to my service, are those services scams?

Yes its a scam….
Why should WE pay to see OUR credit?
We are allowed to receive an annual credit report from all 3 agency’s. This information is based upon the Federal Trade Commissions website http://www.ftc.gov. You can follow the link off the website located on the left hand side if you scroll down under “Hot Topics” you will find “FREE Annual Credit Report”.
This link is the ONLY authorized on line source for you to get a free credit report under federal law. You can get a free report from each of the three national credit reporting companies every 12 months. Some other sites claim to offer “free” credit reports, but may charge you for another product if you accept a “free” report. The link is http://www.annualcreditreport.com

You can get an annual credit report free by going directly to one of the 3 major bureaus, Equifax, TransUnion, or Experian.
You can also purchase ‘monitoring’ services as you apparently have. The ones with which I am familiar did not update my reports when I knew that there had been accesses and changes made. Both services were cancelled and I now monitor my own reports. You can purchase additional reports directly from the 3 major bureaus for less than the annual monitoring fee.
